Đà Nẵng Approves First-ever Dairy Project

VIET NAM - Đà Nẵng has approved its first-ever dairy farm on 124ha in Hòa Phong commune in Hòa Vang district.

Võ Ngọc Sinh, Director of Đà Nẵng Dairy plant, under the Việt Nam dairy Products Joint-Stock Company (Vinamilk), told Việt Nam News that the project will be built with an investment of VNĐ600 billion (US$26.5 million).

Mr Sinh said the project plans to develop a herd of 4,000 dairy cows in 2017-20 and supply 40 tonnes of fresh cow’s milk for the plant each day.

He said the project would help boost socio-economic development and income for the poor Đà Nẵng suburbs.

It’s the third Vinamilk dairy farm in the central region, after Lâm Đồng in the Central Highlands and Bình Định Province.

Vinamilk also built a milk-processing plant in Hòa Khánh Industrial Zone.

The project will include dairy-farm tours for visitors at the site, a maize and grass fields.

Vinamilk has developed 10 dairy farms with a herd of 15,000 dairy cows in Tuyên Quang, Thanh Hóa, Nghệ An, Bình Định and Lâm Đồng provinces.
